The Tourist was birthed in the fall of 2008, and began their writing process in a somewhat mechanical manner. The Tourist prepared material during winter to be released to the public through home recordings; produced and engineered by Andrew Kline (Bass).

By Spring 2009, The Tourist worked at Maximum Sound Studio in Lynn, Massachusetts, with producer Alex Prieto of Albatross Audio.

With demo in hand, The Tourist crawled out of the studio after months of work, just in time for summer. Taking their live show from hometown Boston, MA to the roads of the east coast (see shows), The Tourist played a variety of venues while continuing to create.

After one year, The Tourist find themselves ready to begin writing and recording their debut EP (to be released Spring 2010), while continuing their studies at Berklee College of Music.
